Plant Combinations

It’s mid August and two of my favorite plants are blooming at the same time. If you have an area begging for some light, you may want to plant the shrub Hydrangea Limelight and perennial Phlox David. The combination of chartreuse flowers of the Limelight and the white flowers of the phlox combines to lighten up the dullest area. David is a good variety because it is mildew resistant and produced abundant flowers late in the season. I have given over an area of my driveway repeating these two plants over a large area. It makes a great splash when most other plants are lacking luster.
